This is not a trip for anyone who likes beach holidays. Pete lives up to his boast that you will be the first people on the islands in the morning and the last off in the evening. And that means we saw more wildlife than other groups and also had the benefit of Pete and Renee's extensive knowledge and experience. Their ability to predict what would happen next meant that we were in exactly the right place at the right moment to capture amazing animal and bird behaviour. We're already looking for our next trip.

This trip is one of my fam's first that centered around learning & experiencing nature and wildlife and boy did we experience it properly. It wouldn't be too much far off to describe this trip as Galapagos Bootcamp. Our group was composed of a wide range of age group and backgrounds and to make every effort to fit the itinerary work for each and every one of us is simply amazing in their know-how, knowledge & years of experience/expertise gained over the years of leading such expeditions in the area & elsewhere.
Special thanks to Pete and Renee for making this trip so very special for my family.

Fabulous again!

This is my third trip with Pete. Ecuadorian Amazon, Galapagos and now Madagascar. The difference between Pete and Reneé and the bigger expedition companies is the personal touch they impart. I always feel like the trip is all about me and they are making sure I am enjoying myself. Pete does an excellent job of showing you not just the wildlife; he gives you a real sense of the people, the cultures and the history of the places we visit. He puts context to what you are seeing which makes for a much deeper experience. This won’t be my last trip with Pete and Reneé!!

I put off writing this review because I knew that nothing I wrote would properly convey how wonderful this trip was. This was my first time traveling with Pete & Reneé and due to work schedules, my husband and I were only signed up for 14 of the 18 day trip. That was our biggest mistake; I almost gave my notice on the spot to stay the extra four days.

Not only are Pete and Reneé flexible, good-humored and competent but their long history traveling to Madagascar allows them to share a unique perspective and story of the island's conservation efforts and culture that are key to understanding its complex history. Their partnership with the right local guides gave us the ability to experience the country in an intimate way - whether we were feet from Indri lemurs calling or spending several hours photographing fossa, it always seemed to be an exclusive encounter.

I plan to spend the next month reliving our time there through photos and cataloging the variety of lemurs, chameleons, birds, and reptiles we saw. I can’t recommend Pete, Reneé, or Madagascar enough.

We just returned from 18 days in Madagascar yesterday and I am still floating on air. This was the first trip I had ever done of this magnitude and I will never forget it. Pete and Renee are gracious, enthusiastic and attentive to each guest. I thought this trip was going to be all about the wildlife but the people and the culture were just as memorable. We saw so many animals and plants that live no where else on the planet- lemurs, chameleons, lizards, frogs, fossa and 86 species of birds. We learned, laughed, squealed and sometimes cried over the beauty and life of Madagascar. I would highly recommend traveling with Pete and Renee.
