Pete and Renee put together the most fantastic two week tailor made trip for us. From mountain biking down Cotopaxi and through the beautiful Chimborazo province, to hummingbird paradise in the stunning Cloud forest and five days in the Amazon rainforest, every moment of the trip has left us with memories, experiences and plenty of laughs that we will cherish forever. Pete and Renee’s incredible knowledge and obvious love for the country, its culture and wildlife made travelling with them very insightful. Over their many years living in Ecuador they have built up a special rapport and connection with the local communities and we were welcomed like old friends everywhere we visited. Every aspect of the trip was superbly organised but their spontaneous and flexible approach to the itinerary also guaranteed we never missed a trick and we genuinely feel that we have experienced at least a part of the 'real' Ecuador. Just coming to the end of an amazing bespoke trip to Ecuador with Pete and Renee. A two week trip which has taken us to the Amazon rainforest, the cloud forest, remote native communities, a Chagra festival, colorful markets, the old city of Quito and cycling down Cotopaxi and Chimborazo volcanos.

Pete and Renee's passion and knowledge about wildlife and the natural world is phenomenal and their energy boundless. Pete engages with people intuitively and has a huge sense of fun creating laughter and connections where ever he goes. It has been a privilege to be welcomed into people's homes in small remote communities - to see the close and trusting friendships which have developed over the years with Pete and Renee. Their commitment to us having a comprehensive and insightful experience has been 100% and a flexible approach has enabled us to be spontaneous as opportunities have arisen for example discovering and including a huge Chagra festival with around two thousand horses and riders.

After all this there is still more to experience - we hope to return!

The trip fulfilled and exceeded my wildest expectations. The tour leaders and crew were very well organized and attentive to our safety. The snorkeling sites were thrilling, and made more so by the guides in the water with us, pointing out creatures we might have otherwise missed. Special thanks to Andrew for assisting me with my camera. The hikes and other out-of-water adventures were also exceptional (red bird-of-paradise, children singing in church). And the food was terrific.
Pete's expertise and enthusiasm added a great deal to the experience. He has an amazing breadth of experience with the natural world, and I really appreciated his insights into the creatures he's worked with and photographed, and the impact that human society is having on their environment.

It was a wonderful, fulfilling expedition, enhanced by Peter's knowledge, experience, leadership and plain fun! He added enthusiasm and joy to snorkeling, conservation and connecting with the people of Indonesia. We would highly recommend any trip with Peter Oxford.

I went to Raja Ampat to look at tropical fish but I experienced so much more. The beauty and diversity under the water was enhanced by what was experienced above. Pete's passion for the environment and all that inhabits it made this trip rich and rewarding.
